Audiobook Reviews from Audiobook-Heaven

Well, here it is a new year already, can you believe it? And here I am back at work again after my long vacation. Although it didn’t feel much like a vacation since I was slaving away at the keyboard for two months trying to improve the look and feel of Audiobook-Heaven. I did have some time off from my reviewing duties however, which gave me a chance to go back and listen to my old favorite, the Harry Potter series.
But enough about that! It’s Saturday, and that means it’s time to look into the old Audiobook-Heaven Mailbag! Pardon me for a moment while I dust this thing off, it’s just been sitting for a couple of months.
Ah, there we go, now let’s see what new audiobooks have arrived!

From Graphic Audio we have:

Batman:No Man’s Land, Parts 1 and 2

by Greg Rucka, narrated by a full cast
Gotham City: a dark, twisted reflection of urban America. Overcrowded, overbuilt, and overshadowed by a continuous air of menace, this gothic nightmare is a breeding ground for the depraved, the indifferent, and the criminally insane. It's also the object of one man's obsession. Forever scarred as a child from witnessing the brutal murder of his parents, Bruce Wayne has dedicated his life to protecting this city from its many predators, taking a form to inspire hope in the innocent...and fear in the guilty. He is the masked vigilante known as the Batman.
With Police Commissioner James Gordon, these two men have always fought to preserve law and order, side-by-side, struggling against a pervasive and relentless criminal element, working together to hold the line. Until now.
Leveled by a massive earthquake that has left thousands dead and millions more wounded, Gotham City has been completely cut off from outside aid, transformed into a lawless battleground -- a No Man's Land -- where the survivors are turning against one another, and where the city's protectors are torn by a crisis that may consume them all.
Gotham now teeters at the edge of the abyss...and Batman is missing.

From Brilliance Audio we’ve received:

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Design

by Catherynne M Valente, narrated by Catherynne Valente
September is a girl who longs for adventure. When she is invited to Fairyland by a Green Wind and a Leopard, well, of course she accepts. (Mightn’t you?) But Fairyland is in turmoil, and it will take one twelve-year-old girl, a book-loving dragon, and a strange and almost human boy named Saturday to vanquish an evil Marquess and restore order.

And also from Brilliance it’s:

Darkness Falling

by Peter Crowther, read by Luke Daniels
First, the flash. A glare of light, just before dawn, followed by utter darkness. A vast blanketing nothingness that covers the whole Earth.
Then, the disappearances begin. Friends and strangers alike, swallowed by the darkness… A lucky few are returned, but they are altered, changed.
For the people of Jesman’s Bend, it feels like the end of the world. But this is only the very start.

And that’s it for this week! Wow, those sound like some pretty amazing audiobooks to start off the new year with! Shucks, what am I doing sitting at this dumb computer when I could listening to one of these? I’m outta here!
