PUBLISHER’S SUMMARY: No one, fictional or factual, embodies the Jazz Age as completely as F. Scott Fitzgerald's Jay Gatsby. First published in 1925, this legendary novel continues to enthrall generations as it serves as a lens to view our not so distant past. Many of our notions about that period are taken from the pages of this book. Bathtub gin, flappers, and house parties that last all week enliven Fitzgerald's classic tale. Stylish and engaging, The Great Gatsby is also a startling literate portrait of Gatsby's search for meaning in his opulent world.
With his sharp social insight and breathtaking lyricism, Fitzgerald stands out as one of the most important American writers of the 20th century. Frank Muller's timeless interpretation enhances the imagery of Gatsby's stylish and unfulfilling world with brilliance and insight beyond the printed word.

MY THOUGHTS: “The Great Gatsby” is a very great and meaningful novel about how empty our lives can be and blah blah blah. A lot of people who are a lot smarter than I am say a lot of great things about “The Great Gatsby” but let's face it, it's a boring audiobook about absolutely nothing. I won’t go so far as to say that I'm sorry I read "The Great Gatsby"; even if you don’t like an audiobook it can still make you think, and therefore expand your world view. Books have that kind of power, even mediocre ones.

NARRATOR: Frank Muller is the only reason I read “The Great Gatsby." He's a great audiobook narrator and I would listen to just about anything he reads. I actually finished this entire audiobook which is a tribute to what a great narrator Frank Muller is.

FINAL WORD: Okay, I was a little harsh. Obviously, a lot of people really like “The Great Gatsby." I am not one of them, mainly because I just don't get audiobooks that use a lot of symbolism and have hidden meanings and such. Don’t knock it 'til you try it, that's what I always say.

Thanks though for the honesty. If you made it all pretty for everyone to read then, well, everyone would and come back and tell you about it!
